You have now completed our pre-placement application.
Hopefully you feel like you have adequate information to make a decision.
My main concern is for the welfare of our puppies, and my belief is that it is in our puppy's best interest to make sure their families are as informed as possible about the realities of owning a Newfoundland pup.
We thank you for taking the time to look at our website, and inquire about one of our Newfoundlands. We never place pups on the basis of email correspondance alone, so we will be calling you shortly. Please click on the SUBMIT button below to send us your info.
We have Champion sired black pups available at this time. Females are already spoken for, but we 1 male available. These pups are $1500, and will be ready for new homes mid-late June
We also have a litter of 7 black pups from Zeus X Rosie This is a repeat breeding and their last litter was outstanding. We have 1 female and 2 males left available from this litter. Zeus X Ciara pups are $1250 and will be ready for their new homes mid August.
Before going to their new homes, our pups are vet checked, vaccinated, wormed and screened for SAS by a Board Certified Vet Cardiologist.
Our pups are $1250-1500 (depending on breeding...CHampion sired pups are $1500) and come with 1 yr health warranty covering severe hip dysplasia, and any life threatening disease or disorder. We require a $300 deposit to hold a puppy until it is ready to come home to you.
Shipping within the continental US is $325-400 depending on which airline we use. The shipping covers airfare, insurance, vet certificate and crate. The crate we ship in is large enough to use for a month or so after your puppy comes home. American Air will normally be in the $325 range. If American doesnt serve your area and we have to use Delta, it will normally be in the $400 range.

Best Time To Call You
We also would like to make sure that all of our puppy buyers realize that problems can (and do!!) come up with Newfoundlands that are not covered by our health warranty. We cover severe hip dysplasia and life threatening diseases or disorders. Sadly, as a breed Newfoundlands have more than their fair share of health issues, as does any pure bred dog. This is in part caused by the closed gene pool we work with as breeders of pure bred dogs. What this means is that it is not possible to go to another outside breed to try to breed out the problems occuring in a specific breed of dog. This is the reason that pure bred dogs in general are not as healthy, and dont live as long as the much-loved "mutt"!!!
We feel that the two things we have the most control over as Newfoundland breeders are reducing the incidence of severe hip dysplasia in our puppies, and reducing the incidence of life threatening diseases or disorders. These are the two things that are covered in our health warranty, and they are covered for the first year of your puppies life.
Feeding adequate, premium, high quality dog food will run between $50-75 monthly for a Newf. If you choose to get professional grooming instead of doing it yourself, grooming will run between $75-100 a month.
Vet care will run a MINIMUM of $200 annually for NORMAL vet care. This is for vaccinations, heartworm tests, etc ONLY. This amount DOES NOT include charges for illnesses or anything other than annual "well dog" visits. Vet bills when your Newfoundland is ill will be substantially more costly. As an example, if one of our Newfs is sick, we rarely leave the office with a bill under $150, even for a "simple" ear infection. EVERYTHING about the giant breeds costs more!!
Heartworm preventative runs approx $150 annually for a dog the size of a Newf.
Flea and tick preventative runs approx $80 for a 6 month supply for a Newf.
Training is a MINIMUM of $75-100 for a 6-8 week course, and is not an OPTION....it is a NECESSITY. Toys will need to be put into the budget, as will training treats etc, all of which cost money!!!!!
Do you feel like you have thoroughly and realistically thought about the costs that will be involved in the normal upkeep of a Newfoundland?
How soon are you hoping to add a pup to your family?
What type of household do you live in?
If an apartment or condo, please provide name of manager, apartment complex name and phone number. We do call to make sure they allow large dogs.
Do you have a fenced yard, or fenced area so your Newf will not get out, get hit by a car, become a nuisance in the neighborhood etc?
If you dont have a fenced yard, please give me any info about how you intend to handle a Newf without a fence. Not having a fence doesnt automatically mean we wont place a Newf puppy, but we do need a lot of additional information about how you intend to housebreak and protect your Newf puppy.
Please tell me as much as possible about your household: Do you have young children, how often will someone be there with the puppy, do you have other dogs, cats, animals....Anything you can think of that may help me place the right puppy with you and your family.
